Wan is Alibaba’s family of AI video models. The Wan2.x line established the brand on the open-weights side; Wan 3.0, which surfaced in August 2026, is a closed-beta departure from it — 30-second single-pass generation, document inputs as creative references, and simultaneous #1 debuts on Artificial Analysis’s text-to-video and video-editing boards.
